Joel was born in St. Paul and lived there until age seven, when his family moved to Tyler, Minnesota, a small town in the southwest part of the state. His father served as a pastor at a local Baptist church, and Joel spent his formative years enjoying the values and work ethic that come with rural living.

Some of Joel’s earliest jobs included walking beans, picking rocks, baling hay, and occasionally milking cows during his junior high and high school years. He later started a lawn mowing business with his older brother and spent summers painting homes. During his junior year of high school, Joel realized he wanted to pursue a career in real estate after seeing how the profession combined entrepreneurship with the opportunity to work closely with people.

Joel graduated from RTR High School and later earned a Business Administration degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a focus in Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate (FIRE).

Shortly after graduating, Joel married his wife, Lisa. Together they have five children—four boys and one girl—and their growing family now includes a daughter-in-law and a grandson. Joel and his family have lived in the northeast suburbs of St. Paul throughout their married life and have called North Oaks home for the past 16 years.

With more than 25 years as a licensed REALTOR®, Joel has built a successful career based on relationships, repeat clients, and referrals. His personal experience with rental properties, home renovations, and lake property ownership gives him valuable insight he enjoys sharing with clients.

Today, Joel especially enjoys working as part of a team, allowing him to provide an even higher level of service and support to the clients he serves.
